Curbicus Inventor, Anna Gannon

Curbicus is a clean, compostable solution to dog waste for urban pet parents. It's a patent-pending device that contains a small vacuum mechanism and self-closing compostable bags.

Co-Founder Anna Gannon will pitch Curbicus in the 10th annual CVC-NY Demo Night on Wednesday, October 14th. Curbicus will be one of five teams who will participate in our second all-virtual Demo Night event.

This year’s events are a little different than years prior. The New York Demo Night will feature exclusively E-commerce & Retail businesses.

The all-virtual nature allowed more teams to apply from all over and will also allow a larger group of attendees. While we will miss the in-person event, we are excited to host all of you that might not have been able to travel to these cities. Remember to RSVP!

Curbicus Founder slash Inventor, Anna Gannon, attended CBS and then co-founded an international shipping and logistics company - later acquiring and operating a food import and distribution company. After that, she went on to serve as COO of a life sciences incubator and has been working on her invention for the past 3 years.

Casey Schwichtenberg

What lead you to working with your co-founders?

I was determined to develop a "green", clean, convenient method for urban pet parents to deal with dog waste. If I could imagine it, I knew it could be made. After multiple engineers and prototypes, Casey has learned to read my mind. We have complimentary skill sets.

What was your inspiration for Curbicus?

I am a problem solver and a bit of a mad scientist. I'm passionate about cities and want to play a part in reinventing the future of urban living.

What makes Curbicus superior to the alternatives?

Curbicus is a patent-pending collection device, made of 3D recycled materials that uses self-closing compostable capsules. We intend to transform the waste into a resource and use it as a fertilizer in urban parks.

Are there any resources or words of advice you’d share with other founders?

Have thick skin and surround yourself with people that aren't shy about stating their opinion. Work with people both older and younger than you. Always practice gratitude and humility.
