LEARN ABOUT SOME OF THE SPEAKERS:
Dr. Courtney Cogburn directs a research group that uses innovative means to characterize and measure racism and evaluate its effects on mental and physical health. She will present 1000 Cut Journey, an immersive virtual reality racism experience that was developed in collaboration with the Virtual Human Interaction Lab at Stanford University and which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Alice Bosley is the Co-Founder of Five One Labs, a start-up incubator that helps refugees and conflict-affected entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses in the Middle East. Launching first in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, we aim to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and livelihoods and to contribute to the economic growth of their communities.

Day one of the Festival is the culmination of the Columbia Venture Competition where more than 200 Columbia startups will compete for $250,000 in cash awards. We’ll announce the winners on day two during the main conference portion of the Festival.
This year, the conference will be filled with provocative discussions and demos of mission-driven companies and social enterprises. We’ll also take time to celebrate the memory of “Coach” Bill Campbell ‘62CC ‘64TC by awarding the Coaching Columbia Award.
